Biography
Professor Konstantinos N. Demetzos is a graduate of the Department of Pharmacy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has received further education through research activities at universities in Europe and the United States.
He has published over 260 articles in international scientific journals, along with over 500 presentations at international and Greek conferences (Google Scholar h-index 48; i10-index=140). His scientific work has been awarded at scientific conferences, and he has been recognized for his scientific contributions.
He has supervised numerous doctoral theses, postgraduate theses, and undergraduate projects. He has also taught at European summer schools.
Professor Demetzos serves as a reviewer in many committees in Greece and abroad and has participated as a reviewer of scientific papers in more than 40 scientific journals.
He is the President of the Hellenic Pharmaceutical Society (HPS) and was elected as a regular member of the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS) with the role of coordinating scientific networks (Network coordinator) from 2014 to 2016.
He collaborates with the pharmaceutical industry on research programs and the evaluation of pharmaceutical products. In 2018, he was honored by the Academy of Athens for his scientific work in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology and for his original book “Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology: Fundamentals and Practical Applications,” which offers new and interdisciplinary approaches to designing and developing innovative nanosystems for drug delivery and therapeutic products for the treatment of diseases.
