Michael Katharakis

Biography
Michael Katharakis was born in Heraklion, Crete. He holds a degree in Physics from the University of Crete and is a Ph.D. graduate of the School of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens. He has previously worked for the Institute of Technology and Research (ITR), the Department of Physics, and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Crete, as well as the School of Technological Applications at the Technological Educational Institute of Heraklion.
He has published a series of research papers and has given presentations at various conferences. He has served as the scientific coordinator for programs like “PRAXIS,” “PEPER,” and many other funded educational programs at the Chamber of Commerce of Heraklion. He was involved in the establishment of the Technology Transfer Center of the Science and Technology Park of Crete and worked as an external collaborator for the Industrial Property Organization for the region of Crete.
He is a founding member and technology advisor at the company “Digital Promotion Services” (dps) and is responsible for the entrepreneurial department of the Mediation Office of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete. He participated in the establishment of the Institute for Lifelong Learning at the Technological Educational Institute of Crete.
Since September 2004, he has been the Director of the Vocational Training Center of the Technical Schools at the Chamber of Commerce of Heraklion. He possesses excellent computer and English language skills.
