Biography

Bachelor’s degree in Geology and a doctoral thesis in Tectonic Geology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Laboratory Teaching Staff at the University of Crete and Curator of Geological and Paleontological Collections at the M.F. Institute. Coordinator and member of research teams in over 30 research and applied programs in geology, natural disasters, geoconservation, geomorphology, and geo-archaeology. Author of over 100 scientific articles in international journals, volumes, and conference proceedings.

Other activities: Member of several National and International Scientific Organizations and Committees. Deputy Coordinator of the European Geoparks Network, Coordinator of the Greek Geoparks Forum, Member of UNESCO’s World Geoparks Evaluation Team, Scientific Coordinator of the UNESCO Global Geopark of Psiloritis. Certified Adult Educator. Proficient in English (C1 level) and German (A2 level).
