Biography
Thelma Papantoniou holds a degree from the University of Cyprus – Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in European Literature and Culture from the University of Cambridge. Since 2010, she has been working as an Officer at the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO, dedicated to promoting the goals of UNESCO in Cyprus. Her responsibilities include documenting Cyprus’ Intangible Cultural Heritage in the National Inventory, preparing nominations for the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, implementing preservation programs in collaboration with communities and organizations, coordinating educational activities related to cultural heritage, sustainable development, active citizenship, as well as programs promoting cultural diversity.
