Biography

Professor Konstantinos N. Demetzos holds a degree from the Department of Pharmacy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has completed research and training at universities in Europe and the United States.

He has published over 260 research papers in international scientific journals, along with more than 500 presentations at international and Greek conferences. His work has received awards at scientific conferences, and he has been recognized for his scientific contributions.

Professor Demetzos has supervised numerous doctoral theses, postgraduate theses, and undergraduate projects. He has also taught at European summer schools.

He serves as a reviewer for many committees in Greece and abroad and has participated as a reviewer for scientific papers in over 40 scientific journals.

He is the President of the Hellenic Pharmaceutical Society (HPS) and was elected as a regular member of the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS), where he coordinated scientific networks from 2014 to 2016.

He collaborates with the pharmaceutical industry on research programs and product evaluations. In 2018, he received an award from the Academy of Athens for his work in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology and for his original textbook “Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology: Fundamentals and Practical Applications,” which offers new interdisciplinary approaches to the design and development of innovative nanosystems for drug and therapeutic product delivery for disease treatment.
