Biography
Dr. Georgios Fragkiadakis has scientific interests focused on “Comparative Biochemistry and Metabolism,” “Food Hygiene & Safety in Human Nutrition,” and “Diet of Vulnerable Population Groups – Dietary Habits and Health.” He worked at the University of Thessaly (1999-2001) and the University of Crete (2001-2002) as an Associate Professor and Lecturer, respectively, teaching “Biochemistry” based on Presidential Decree 407/80. He has also worked (1996-1999) at the National Agricultural Research Foundation (NAGREF, now ELGO-DEMETER) as a contractual researcher in the fields of Applied Molecular Biology and Fungal Biochemistry, as well as at the Ministry of Agriculture (food quality control) as a contractor. He was a fellow of the Institute of Technology and Research (ITR-IMBB) from 1988 to 1995.
He holds a Ph.D. in Biology with a specialization in “Biochemistry” (University of Crete, Department of Biology, Biochemistry Laboratory, 1996). He also holds a Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Biology (University of Crete, Department of Biology, 1990) and a degree in Veterinary Medicine (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 1985). He has published 80 full articles in international scientific journals and full conference proceedings, all peer-reviewed, receiving approximately 1,150 citations (as of September 2023) with an h-index of 17 and an i10-index of 23. He is a member of the editorial board and a reviewer for relevant scientific publications at Brill, Netherlands.
