Biography
Michael Katsarakis was born in Heraklion, Crete. He holds a degree in physics from the University of Crete and a Doctorate from the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He has worked in the past for FORTH, the Physics Department, and the Chemistry Department of the University of Crete, as well as at the School of Technological Applications of TEI Heraklion. He has published a series of publications and has participated with presentations in several conferences. He has been a Scientific Coordinator in various research programs, and he has been involved in dozens of other funded educational programs in the field of technical schools through the Technical Chamber of Greece. He participated in the establishment of the Technology Transfer Center of the Science and Technology Park of Crete and served as an external collaborator for the Industrial Property Organization for the region of Crete. He is a founding member and technology consultant at the company “Digital Promotion Services” (dps). He is responsible for the entrepreneurial department of the Mediation Office of TEI Crete. He participated in the establishment of the Lifelong Learning Institute of TEI Crete. Since September 2004, he has been the Director of the KEK Technical Schools of the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has excellent computer and English language skills.
